Software To Monitor Internet Usage
There are a number ways today in which parents can monitor their child's use of the internet in much the same ways as employers are able to monitor their employees use. By installing software to monitor internet usage a parent will be able to secretly monitor what websites their child is visiting, along with the keystrokes that they make and any conversations they have within chat rooms. It also allows the parent to see what emails have been sent and received by their child.
One particular program that enables a parent to carry out these functions is called Activity Logger. Once installed it will record all the information into a special file (log) that will then send an email to you every few hours. But because all the reporting and configuration (set up) procedures are password protected the only person who can gain access to the information is the one that knows the password.
The main features of such software programs as the one mentioned above are as follows:-
1. It logs everything that the child is doing whilst they are online. Including keystrokes, what applications are used, how long they are using them for, any passwords that they child may key in along with a history of the surfing they have completed on the internet. It then logs everything that has been tracked and recorded for you to be able to reference at a later date. 2. It allows you as the parent to monitor all the emails that your child receives and sends from a computer in all formats including Windows Mail, Outlook, Outlook Express and Thunderbird. 3. It will log all the conversations your child has with others whilst using either instant messaging or chat rooms. Plus using this type of software to monitor internet usage allows you as the parent to see both sides of the conversation as they have occurred or when they are taking place. 4. Because these programs come with advanced reporting features it enables a parent to see all their child's online and computer activity in an instant. This then allows you work out which sites you can in fact restrict your child from using and those that you deem acceptable for them to continue using. For those parents who are looking for an effective way to ensure that their child remains safe whilst online then should be seriously considering investing in a good quality software to monitor internet usage package. Not only is their Activity Logger but also such software programs as NetNanny also.
